Question 1

Can I really change my accent as an adult?

Accepted Answer

Yes. An accent is a set of sound habits, and habits can be retrained at any age. We work sound by sound, starting with the ones that make the biggest difference to how clearly you're understood. With daily practice the new sounds become automatic, so you stop having to think about them.

Question 2

What does it cost?

Accepted Answer

There are six ways to join: two self-paced plans, two one-to-one plans and two group classes. Self-Paced is $130 USD a month: a 30-minute call with Andy every month and your own practice portal. Blended Coaching is $240 USD a month: one 60-minute live call a month, direct WhatsApp access to Andy with short audio calls when you need them, and new practice texts every week. Full Live Coaching is $460 USD a month: four 30-minute one-to-one sessions a month, with WhatsApp support in between, or $1,250 for 3 months paid upfront. The Flagship Program is $7,500 USD for the whole course, in three instalments of $2,500, with up to 3 lessons a week for six months, then two follow-up months. The group classes are $85 USD with Andy or $45 USD with one of our associate coaches, for an 8-week course of weekly live classes; registration opens soon.

Question 3

Which plan is right for me?

Accepted Answer

Self-Paced suits disciplined learners who want a clear plan and a monthly check-in. Blended Coaching suits busy professionals who practise on their own but want Andy within reach on WhatsApp. Full Live Coaching is the fastest monthly route: you're corrected live every week. The Flagship Program is for people who want the full result, with up to 3 lessons a week for six months, then two follow-up months. Not sure? Book a discovery call and Andy will recommend one.

Question 4

Are the lessons live or pre-recorded?

Accepted Answer

Live, one-to-one, on Zoom with Andy. A video can explain a sound, but only live correction teaches your mouth to make it. Between lessons you practise in your own online portal, with Andy's model recordings for every text and a recorder that saves every take. The group classes are live on Zoom too.

Question 5

What are the group classes?

Accepted Answer

Live online classes that follow the Level 1 accent reduction course, one class a week for 8 weeks, with up to 15 students from many different language backgrounds. They're the most affordable way to train with us: $85 for the whole course with Andy, or $45 with one of our associate coaches. Seats are limited, and each class starts as soon as it fills.

Question 6

How soon will I hear a difference?

Accepted Answer

Most clients hear themselves change within the first four to eight weeks, and the people around them notice soon after. Honestly, a full change takes six to eight months of steady practice. It's months of work, not days, and we'll never pretend otherwise.

Question 7

What happens on the discovery call?

Accepted Answer

It's a 20-minute Zoom call with Andy. You read one short paragraph, and he tells you which sounds give your accent away, in what order to fix them, and which plan suits your goals. If coaching isn't the right fit, he'll say so. The call is $45, paid when you book, and it's taken off your next payment when you join a one-to-one plan. You don't need one to join: if you already know which plan you want, you can start straight away.

Question 8

How do I get started?

Accepted Answer

Choose a plan on youraccentcoach.com, answer a few quick questions (your name, your mother tongue, your goals) and pay at secure checkout. Within 24 hours your practice portal is ready and your first steps arrive by email and WhatsApp.

Question 9

Will I lose my own accent?

Accepted Answer

Only if you want to. You gain control: you can switch into clear American or British speech whenever it matters, in a meeting, an interview or on a call. Your identity stays yours.

Question 10

Which accent should I learn?

Accepted Answer

We teach General American and British, both clear and understood everywhere in business and media, or a neutral, maximum-clarity blend. If you're not sure, Andy helps you choose on the discovery call, based on where you live, work and want to go.

Question 11

Is my English good enough?

Accepted Answer

If you can hold a conversation in English, yes. This is accent and clarity coaching, not grammar lessons. Most clients already speak English well and want to be understood the first time, without repeating themselves.

Question 12

How much do I need to practise?

Accepted Answer

About 15 to 20 minutes a day. Your exercises are set for your own sounds, in your portal. Every recording you make is saved, so you can hear yourself improve week by week.

Question 13

Am I locked in?

Accepted Answer

No. Monthly plans cancel any time, and you can switch plans when your month renews. There's also a 30-day money-back guarantee on the one-to-one plans if you're not happy with your progress after the first month. Group classes are one payment for the 8-week course: you get a full refund if you ask before the end of week 2, and no refund after that.

Question 14

What about time zones and rescheduling?

Accepted Answer

Andy coaches clients across the US, Europe, the Middle East and Asia, with flexible hours, so most time zones are easy. Need to move a lesson? Message us on WhatsApp or by email at least 48 hours ahead and it's rescheduled at no charge.

Question 15

How do I pay?

Accepted Answer

At secure checkout on our website, straight from the plan you choose. We accept Visa, Mastercard, American Express and Discover, credit or debit, plus Apple Pay and Google Pay. Prices are in USD and your bank converts from your own currency. The Flagship Program is paid in three instalments of $2,500 (card, PayPal, bank transfer or Western Union); the other one-to-one plans are paid month by month, and a group class is one payment for the whole course.

Question 16

Who teaches the group classes?

Accepted Answer

Andy teaches one group himself. The other is taught by one of our associate coaches, using the same Level 1 course, the same texts and the same model recordings.

Question 17

Do group students get their own portal?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Every group student gets the shared class portal, with the class's texts and model recordings, and their own practice portal too, linked to the class. Your recordings are saved there, so you can hear your progress week by week.

Question 18

Group class or one-to-one: which should I choose?

Accepted Answer

Choose a group class if you want a structured, affordable start and you're happy to learn at the group's pace. Choose a one-to-one plan if you want everything built around your own sounds, with corrections just for you. Many students start in a group and move to one-to-one later.

Question 19

When do the group classes start, and how do I join?

Accepted Answer

Seats are limited, and each class starts as soon as its seats fill. Press Claim your seat under either group class and leave your details; we'll confirm your class time and send the payment details by email and WhatsApp.

Question 20

Does the $45 discovery-call credit count towards a group class?

Accepted Answer

No. The $45 comes off your first payment on a one-to-one plan (Self-Paced, Blended Coaching, Full Live Coaching or the Flagship Program). It doesn't apply to the group classes, and you don't need a discovery call to join one.
